The Old Man and The Sea — A Unique Film

Ernest Hemingway got a Pulitzer Prize for The Old Man and the Sea, the novella that put him into an international celebrity status. This exquisite animated adaptation of the book by Russian animator Aleksandr Petrov is composed of over 29,000 images. Petrov - and his son Dimitri - painted in a unique pastels-on-glass technique over the course of two years. The film received the 2000 Academy Award for Animated Short Film.
