Couldn't agree more with Majrooh Sahib, our poets, writers, and civil society has been crying hoarse for decades yet, tin pot dictators who derive their strength from the use of force and oppression against any voice of dissent, immediately conjure out "National Interest" out of their varicolored hats, and have no regrets -unless they are posthumous (if that is possible).
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile we have a country under serious threat of talibanisation, an increasingly dwindling middle class and an astonishingly rabid population growth rate - with less access to 'roti kapra aur dawa' today in the reign of 'enlightened moderation' than we had decades ago.
As Darwin so aptly puts it:
"If the misery of our poor be caused not by the laws of nature, but
by our institutions, great is our sin."
Some Victory General Sahib!
