RAIN
She said she liked the rain sometimes.
I, that the only thing I have against it is it makes you wet.
Anyway on hot summer nights the sound of it is cool.
She said when you are crossed in love you listen to the words of the songs.
I said that being in love is bad for the stomach;
no one should be in love after thirty.
She kissed me and ran naked out in the rain,
and indigestion burned inside me like a fire.
Henry Graham
Absolutely fab!! Three cheers for Liverpool - no wonder Ginsberg called it the centre of consciousness of the human universe.
ReplyDeleteZAK, didn't know you were such a fantastic painter too.
Beautiful.
you did justice to the poem with the illustration. it's brilliant! :)
ReplyDeletesomehow your illustration manages to fill me with dread and touch me at the very same time...on one hand it's overpowering in a way that seems as if it's obstructing and confining, trying to make me choke by stopping me from breathing, and on the other hand it makes me want to let go of reason and drown into its abyss of sweet oblivion...amazing :) and this is coming from a person who ordinarily isn't very responsive to imagery :)
ReplyDeleteand thanks so much for visiting my blog...i just saw your comments :)
The image danced through my dreams all night.
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely poem- i've always maintained that love means stomachache :)

ReplyDeleteIf your printer's status displays "Printer is in an Error State," there may be a problem with the printer itself. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your PC by Wi-Fi or cable. Check it for low paper or ink, and be sure the cover isn't open and the paper isn't jammed. if you are not tech geeks check the blog that is given above.
